Instrutor Pezão from Capoeira Mandinga Oakland will come to Shanghai and will teach classes during the first three weeks of April helping us to get ready for our 5^th Batizado, which will take place in Nanjing on the 21^st and 22^nd of April with the presence of our Mestre, Mestre Marcelo Caveirinha. People interested in capoeira and capoeiristas from other groups are all welcome to participate! More details will be released soon.

Our gym will be closed starting from this Saturday 21st of January until the 29th. Thanks to Rino’s help, we have a place where to train!

Address: 长宁区汇川路400弄凯旋坊创意园区5号楼(近凯旋路) Huichuan Road No.400Lane Kauxuan Fang Creative Park Area. Building 5 (go in side then turn left and go straight, you will find it)

The schedule will be the following:
– Saturday 21st: 5:00pm-6:00pm
– Tuesday 24th, Thursday 26th, Friday 27th, Saturday 28th: from 6:00pm to 7:00pm
– Starting from Monday 30th, we will be back to our usual schedule and venue.

The #50 vendor will be on the right-hand side column and is one of the first vendors to appear from this entrance.

Capoeira is great for kids. It combines martial arts, gymnastics, music and dance and provides a fun challenging workout. Capoeira is also a great tool to develop coordination, since its movements involve the entire body. Thanks to its music component, children also learn to sing in Portuguese and play the traditional Capoeira instruments. Introducing fun kids games where the elements of capoeira are incorporated, children learn many important skills including discipline, self confidence and respect.

Ido Portal will come to Shanghai for a weekend workshop on November 11, 12 and 13! Most of you already know him; some of his videos are on YouKu.

It’s a great opportunity to learn from one of the best movement and balancing trainers in the world. These are not traditional capoeira workshops but something different, special, which will be extremely useful for all of us in order to improve both our equilibrium and floreios.

Rinoceronte and Dalila (习枫 Xí Fèng; 杨絮 Yáng Xù) are a very dear couple to Capoeira Mandinga Shanghai. They are a very special pair of individuals, with broad smiles and great sense of humor who bring axé to every training and roda. They are also very committed and hard-working in their purpose of learning capoeira; Dalila had the Highest Training Attendance Rate of the year 2010!

We are specially grateful to them for their help in promoting and explaining capoeira culture to more and more Chinese people.
