Capoeira Mandinga Shanghai

Tuesday February 7th from 3:30 to 4:30PM

Initiation to capoeira for kids from 5 years old.

Kids will be introduced to the world of capoeira by learning basic movements and body expression, playing traditional Brazilian instruments (percussions: Atabaque and Pandeiro) and singing in Portuguese.

Capoeira is a great tool to develop motor coordination, since its movements involve the entire body.
Introducing fun kids games where the elements of capoeira are incorporated, children learn many important skills including discipline, loyalty, self confidence and respect.

This weekend 3rd and 4th of July we will have a workshop with Instrutor Indio from Capoeira Axé Hong Kong.

Classes will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm both on Saturday and Sunday, at our gym.

You can’t miss it!

Price: 150rmb for one class and 200rmb for two classes.

Starting from Saturday 12th of June, we will have class with Contra Mestre Carcará.

The schedule for the holidays is the following:
Saturday 12 – from 5:00pm to 7:00pm
Sunday 13 – from 7:00pm to 9:00/9:30pm
Monday 14 – from 7:00pm to 9:00/9:30pm
Tuesday 15 – from 7:00pm to 9:00/9:30pm

Wednesday16 the gym will be closed so the idea is to have some capoeira action in Zhongshan Park, otherwise we’ll need an indoor space where to train

Thursday 17 – from 8:00pm to 9:30pm: BEGINNER CLASS
Friday 18 – from 8:00pm to 9:30pm: INTERMEDIATE CLASS
Saturday 19 – from 5:00pm to 7:00pm

With the exception of Thursday 17 and Friday 18, all the classes are open to both beginners and less beginners.

Due to the Chinese New Year, the gym will be closed from Saturday 13th until Friday 19th of February. Last class before the CNY will be on Thursday 11th and first class after the holidays will be on Saturday 20th.

Just to remind you that today, 24th of Dec. there will be capoeira class (xiexie Ma xiansheng).
Saturday 26th there will also be our usual roda, after class we can go together somewhere for dinner.
Monday 28th and Tuesday29th regular classes.
Wednesday 30th massive end of the year roda.

No class on Thursday 31st.

Saturday 2nd of January first roda of the year 5:00-6:30.

Starting from the 4th of January we will follow our regular schedule.

Considerations:

2009 has been another good year for our group. A lot of people have left Shanghai but a lot of new students have started training.We also lost our gym but found a new one, warmer and cleaner.

We had two great workshops with CM Espeto, two great months with Istrutora Bolacha and Biscoito, and a massive Batizado with Mestre Marcelo, Mestre Cabello, CM Jô and CM Carcará.

Start thinking about your goals for next batizado (Sept.2010).

This saturday after our massive O’Malley show, Chupa Teta and I are going to collect pictures you may have taken during Batizado/workshop so please bring your camera/SD card/usb flash drive and give us your nicest (we will have a laptop).

We will sort the pictures and post it on the website, for sure the more picture we have the better the selection will be!

Regular classes will start again on Wednesday 7th.

Starting from September 1st 2009 our classes will take place in Wuyi Lu n.777 (map), inside Stargym, 2F. To arrive to the room you should use the stairs (not the elevator).

There is a shortcut from Zhongshan Park Subway station- Changning Lu, it’s about 10 minutes walking.

This Thursday there will be our last class in the gym in Zhongshan Park! We’ll do our last roda there. I would like to see everyone there for a last tribute to our beloved gym. After we might go to the Xinjiang restaurant and order the whole lamb…

This Saturday 1st of August at 5:00pm class will be in a gym near Zhongshan Park.
Address is: n.299 Xuanhua Lu (near Dingxi Lu), Bld. 4. (una tantum: it’s only for this Saturday).

Starting from Monday 3rd of August classes will take place in the gym in Kangding Lu (address and map is here).
The only difference with the old schedule will be Wednesday (we’ll start at 8:00pm instead of 8:15pm) and Saturday (we’ll start 4:30pm instead of 5:00pm).
